I graduated in economics at the University of Vienna where I also obtained my doctoral degree. Thereafter I was teaching. doing research, and enjoying the stimulating atmosphere at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna.

From April 1998 to August 2005 I was in the lucky position to be affiliated with CREED at the University of Amsterdam.
